Day 20 (Take 2)
Finished with day twenty finally. Remember we started the original day 20 on October 2nd. So it was a long time coming. Gets us over 2000 miles so far on this wild adventure.
1. Out of Texas. Hello Louisiana. Texas never seemed to end. We started in El Paso and it went on forever.
2. Day 20 continued to be a challenge. Turns out we had a peloton accident and three of us went down. My face is a bit beat up but I am confident that I will still be able to play the piano. Behind us now.
3. Clearly, starting in exactly the same place as our truck accident in October, it was a bit moving. All of us had different feelings and I would be lying if I didn’t admit that the moment gave me some trepidation. But Team Alpha is the best and supportive and once you start again it’s like riding a bike. Big shout out to the Struzzieri family.
4. Had to tweak our Alpha Win MS site today and some of you may have had a problem donating. All fixed now. Have at it.
5. Two of our new team members Peggy and John. Huge help and strong bikers.
6. Sammy drove the aide van today. During one of our stops she wasn’t as much help.
7. Foggy start to the day with a great deal of morning dew. After that the weather was great.
8. We had breakfast at the same place as October 2. Great service and the gal remembered us. Same furry friend outside. For lunch it was sandwiches. Two young children were mesmerized by my beat up face. I believe if I had shown them my complete monster face routine they would have never slept soundly again. Dinner was a great success. Did try the Boudin balls. Asked the server for some info on the ingredients and feel confident they are off the plan for me going forward. Look it up.
9. Today’s song was On the Road Again. Thanks Laurie. Perhaps it should have been The Harder They Come the Harder They Fall.
Another big day tomorrow. 107 miles. Will fill you in. Tell your friends to donate.
